Learn more about our updated Terms of Service

Taufikrisya.ada@gmail.com

On January 5, 2022, we're making some changes to our Terms of Service. These changes won't affect the way you use Google services, but they'll make it easier for you to understand what to expect from Google — and what we expect from you — as you use our services.

You can review the new terms here. At a glance, here's what this update means for you:

  • More clarity on what you can expect from Google and what we expect from you: We're providing more examples to describe the mutually respectful conduct that we expect from all our users.
  • Improved readability: While our terms remain a legal document, we've done our best to make them easier to understand, including reorganizing some topics so that they're easier to find.

If you use Family Link to manage a Google Account for someone else, please take some time to talk to them about these changes.

Thank you for using Google!

Updates to YouTube’s Terms of Service

On January 5, 2022, we're updating our Terms of Service ("Terms") to help clarify and make it easier to understand what to expect as you use the service. These changes won't affect the way you use YouTube. You can review a summary of the changes and the updated Terms here.

At a glance, this update covers:

  • More clarity on what to expect: We're providing more transparency about how we develop, improve, and update our service, including more detail about the reasons we make changes and updates, and the advanced notice we provide to you.
  • General updates for improved readability: While our Terms remain a legal document, we've done our best to make them easier to understand. This includes reorganizing some sections (such as Account Suspension and Termination) and rewording others (such as Changing this Agreement).
  • Inclusion of the Community Guidelines strikes process: Your use of YouTube has always been subject to the Community Guidelines and its strikes process, but we're now explicitly including the Community Guidelines strikes information in the Terms to increase transparency. There are no changes to how Community Guidelines strikes operate, or when a channel or content might receive a strike.

Please make sure you read the updates to the Terms. By continuing to use YouTube after this date, you are agreeing to the updated Terms. Note, if you allow your child to use YouTube Kids, or manage your child's use of YouTube through Family Link, take a moment to talk to them about these changes.

Thank you for being part of our global community!

NZDating Newsletter - October 2021 - Halloween Edition

This month NZDating.com celebrates Halloween!

NZDating logo

Happy Halloween!

The special day on October 31 dates back over 2000 years

On the day known as 'All Hallows Eve', young women tossed apple-peels over their shoulders hoping the peels would land in the shape of their future husband's initials...   Thankfully NZDating.com provides modern Kiwis the technology to find partners without the black magic and guesswork.

We reckon it's a great excuse to have fun dressing up and meeting new people!

We thank you for your support,
The NZDating team.

Guidelines for better Photos

in search of the perfect face photo...

You may have noticed we recently improved the photo uploading page by adding a 'guide' area when uploading face photos.

This new features lets you visually centre your face using a sliding scale to zoom in and out, and you can move the photo around using your finger to centre it and create the perfect face photo.

Good quality face photos attract more messages by allowing you to be included in Swipe Matches, and invoke a sense of honesty and trust while helping you to stand out in search results.

Even if you have photos already uploaded, try this new tool to better showcase your beautiful face.

Love during Lockdown

Don't let lockdown stop you from living your best dating life!
Nothing quite beats the excitement of getting dressed up to meet offline for a first date, but there are many advantages to dating from home with NZDating... it really is a simple and exciting way to build up to when you may get to meet post-lockdown. Here's some tips for making the most of online-only lockdown friendships.

Be yourself
Communicating online is a great opportunity to connect quickly - but just exchanging facts can be boring, so try not to go into 'interviewer' mode by reeling off common small talk questions. You don't have to be limited by what's happening today - try talking about your plans for the future or what your hobbies are when not 'locked down'.

Be Creative!
NZDating has tens of thousands of Kiwis logging on daily so you may need to be a little creative to stand out. If you find yourself scheduling 'virtual' dates with the same person often, there are many ways to keep things interesting. Try playing games via the new NZDating mail (Add a line story, Fill in the blanks, Question with a question, 20 Questions, Would you rather, Kiss Marry or Kill, Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, etc.) How about a virtual dinner date by both ordering the same Uber Eats at the same time? Sharing ongoing games or swapping diaries of your days under quarantine can build your closeness as is making future plans for when the lockdown ends.

Be clear about boundaries
Having talked about fun ways to connect online, we also need to be cautious of people who may try to push your personal boundaries or encourage you to do something you're not comfortable with, such as trying to make the conversation too intimate too soon, or trying to convince you to break lockdown to meet them. If your chat does start becoming a little racy, make sure you have enthusiastic consent from the other person before continuing! If you build trust and connect over a period of time, flirtation should become natural and not something inappropriate or pushed.

Take action if it's time to call it
If at any time you feel uncomfortable or unsafe it is ALWAYS okay to end your communication with that person. If it's just a case of sparks not flying after you've given it a good crack, please let the other party down gently. And don't be scared to use block if they won't take no for an answer. Of course, on the other hand - if you are keen to chat with them again, make it clear you enjoyed the chat or send a nice follow-up message later on. Honest communication is KEY.

Get started...
find your lockdown perfect match!

Remember, if you feel unwell, stay home and get tested - follow the guidelines at covid19.govt.nz

Introducing the NZDating Messaging Beta

We're excited to announce a new and superior way of communicating within NZDating - it's basically NZDating email, chat and messaging rolled into one and ready for you to try!

We have seen how messaging around the internet has changed a lot since NZDating came about in the 1990s and have been exploring how NZDating mail should evolve as we grow. Check out the new NZDating messaging!

NZDating members currently access up to half a million mail pages a day, with people around the internet communicating using messaging now more than ever. Similar to other platforms you may use, our new messaging system is a more 'conversational' style grouping by person and updating in real time.

We're connecting NZDating mail, personal chat, your inbox and sent mailbox together to make communicating and keeping track of your relationships within NZDating easier, faster and more fun.

We've designed it with with mobile phone access in mind to make NZDating even better when you're out and about (or just lying around on the couch during lockdown!)

Check out the new NZDating messaging! It's even better for gold members with easy access to their photos and favourite emoticons within messages.

We have more plans in development and soon you'll see more ways to find and connect with new people on NZDating - Stay tuned!

We're still making changes and appreciate feedback - please let us know what you think

Now's a great time to...
try NZDating messaging

Welcome to NZ Lockdown 2.0!

As part of the NZDating community, you are not alone - all you need is your internet connection to meet friendly new people!

For those of us home alone it's important to maintain social connections and as NZDating members you have the great advantage of meeting likeminded people from around the country.

Here's some simple tips to help get the most out of your time at home:

  • Use a bigger screen. If you have a computer or tablet at home, try using that instead of your phone - the photos are larger and interaction is easier than on your small screen phone
  • Spruce up your advert. Updated adverts attract more views, take the time to write an honest and interesting profile outlining your best qualities and what you are looking for in other people
  • During lockdown don't be afraid to make friends outside your area. Try looking through a few profiles outside your region, and if you find an advert by someone who seems likeminded - give them a friendly hello!
  • Join a group conversation. The messageboards and chat rooms contain all manner of topics and are bound to keep you entertained for hours
  • Do NOT be tempted to meet in breach of the rules. You can continue conversations online any time of the day or night without endangering anyone's health

Conversation starter ideas:

  • Share recipes & upload photos of your culinary creations - inspiring others could lead to delicious snacks all around the country!
  • Ask about favourite Netflix series or movies - and share your own!
  • Talk about your lockdown hobbies, activities and pastimes
If you feel unwell, stay home and get tested - follow the guidelines at covid19.govt.nz

Daffodil Day - Last Friday in August

Daffodil Day

Almost everyone knows someone affected by Cancer. NZDating are pleased to help promote Daffodil Day (Friday the 27th August), and until 11 September all members can use the special Daffodil emoticon. Simply enter the text :cancer: in your messageboard post or email. Each image links to the Daffodil Day website and we hope NZDating members can join in thanking the Cancer Society for all their work.

Keep a look out for the Daffodil Day banners running throughout NZCity's network and be sure to click them and make a donation for this great cause that helps so many Kiwis.

Daffodil Day is a major funding source for the Cancer Society with donations going towards providing a wide range of support services, vital scientific research, education and awareness campaigns, and help for people affected by cancer.

There are a number of ways to...
donate to the Cancer Society

NZDating username guidelines

Is it time to update your username?

As such a large and diverse community members have differing expectations of what's appropriate and it's important for NZDating to routinely enforce language guidelines within names, usernames, captions and other areas of NZDating.

For example we cannot allow names that:
  • are sexually suggestive
  • refer to illegal drugs
  • are violent or hateful
  • are anti-religious or racist
We will be asking any such names to be changed, so if you think your account may fit into this category...

Why not take the time now to
review your username
