News around COVID-19 is making this a tense time - many people are feeling anxious and scared. The NZ Mental Health Foundation recently stated "Connecting with people who make you feel safe and loved is the most important thing you can do to look after your mental health" and we agree. The NZDating community is a great safe place to achieve this - please be extra supportive and caring online and we'll get through this together.

Don't forget daylight savings ends on Sunday the 5th April 2020, be sure to wind your clocks back and enjoy an extra hour sleep.

New photo display

Changes in the way photos are displayed

We've historically allowed all types of photos on NZDating with the onus on members setting preferences as to what they want to see. However with an increase in member complaints and Google and Apple no longer allowing potentially offensive photos on their platforms we've recently had to make changes to ensure unwanted photos won't be seen by mistake.

We have NOT changed the way we rate or classify photos, we've made these changes due to members changing settings to allow 'other' photos, then complaining about those photos

Rather than banning adult photos, to avoid these issues we have implemented changes including:

members may no longer have 'other' photos as their main photo
members must click to agree to view 'other' photos before they can be viewed

These changes are part of a larger development programme and we are taking all your feedback into consideration.
