Daylight Saving Yehaa!

We're getting an extra hour in the sun!

On Sunday Sep 27, at 2:00 a.m.
clocks are turned forward 1 hour
to become 3:00 a.m. NZST

Did you know? Daylight saving time is credited to Wellington-based George Hudson. As an amatuer entomologist it is said he proposed Daylight saving to enjoy extra time to collect insects after work at his job at the Wellington Post Office. His mounted insects, now based in Te Papa, are regarded as New Zealand's best ever private insect collection.
